BOARD AND MANAGEMENT
Amsco is definitely a very bold initiative fired
by the vision of outstanding Nigerians. We have an four-man board
made up of the following distinguished men and women who are outstanding
professionals in their chosen fields of endeavor and have also
distinguished themselves in all spheres of life. They are
Mr. Ikechi O. Kalu (Chairman):
Is an accomplished businessman and the Group Managing Director
of Amsco Group. He holds an MBA in Financial Management from Federal
University of Technology Owerri. He is a Fellow of the Chartered
institute of Management Accountant, Member of many other professional
Associates including Nigerian Institute of Management, Institute
of Directors, Nigerian Institute of Industrial Management, Certified
Pension Institute of Nigeria to mention a few. He has attended
several local and international Management courses. He is also
a member of organized Private Sectors such as Manufacturers Association
of Nigeria, Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He has attended
many seminars, workshops and symposia. Mr. Kalu is on the Board
seat of many reputable companies some which are Intercontinental
Bank Plc, United Emene Textile Mills, Skyway Industries Limited
and Intercontinental Properties Limited
Elder Ogbogu O. Kalu (Director):
Is an accomplished Industrialist and businessman. He is currently
the Chairman and founder of the Amsco group, a group with heavy
investments in the Financial, Industrial, Distribution, and lately
Telecoms sector.
Mrs. Salome O. Kalu (Director):
Is a member of the board of the Amsco group and sits on the board
of several other companies. She is an astute businesswoman with
several awards of excellence.
Engr. Ndukwe O. Kalu (Managing Director/CEO):
Engr. Kalu was educated at the prestigious Kings College Lagos,
University of Nigeria, and ESUT Business School where he obtained
the Bachelors in Electronics Engineering and an MBA in Administration
respectively. He also holds the qualification of the Institute
of Data processing & Management London. Engr. Kalu has been
into the design and installation of various networks for over
a decade now. Prominent among which was the Enugu State Wide Area
network. This network linked the state house, secretariat, local
government and parastatals, and the first phase was executed in
1992. Also noteworthy is the fact that Engr. Kalu pioneered Information
Technology publications in Nigeria. This was through the publishing
of Nigeria’s first InfoTech magazine called IT WATCH AFRICA
in 1994. From there Engr. Kalu revolutionized newspaper IT reporting,
by conceptualizing and commencing the first robust IT section
in Nigerian Newspaper history, tagged InfoTech Thisday in 1998.
He is a member of several professional bodies some of which are
Nigerian Society of Engineers, Nigeria Computer Society, Nigeria
Institute of Management, Chartered Institute of Administration,
Institute of Data processing and management (IDPM) London, among
others. Engr. Kalu as country project manager midwived the Adesemi
Project, a $5Million Telecommunications firm. Engr Kalu also serves
on various boards some of which are Amsco Telecoms Limited, Amsco
Nigeria Limited, Admiral Insurance Company Limited, Pricehouse
Communication Limited, Alphastream Solutions Nigeria Limited,
among others. Engr. Kalu also recently served on a joint committee
of the Nigerian Communications Commission and ISPAN on developing
a suitable regulation for the use of the ISM band. In 2004 he
was elected as National Vice President of the Internet Service
Providers Association of Nigeria (ISPAN). Also he served on the
NCC Industry committee setup to advice on VoIP regulation. Currently
Engr Kalu is serving on the National Cybercrime Working Group,
setup by the President to fashion out effective legislation and
system to fight cybercrime in Nigeria. Engr Kalu has recently
spearhead several initiative to improve teledensity and Internet
penetration, one of which is the Naijawifi, an alliance of Nigerian
ISPs set to blanket all of Nigeria with Wifi Internet Access.
Engr. Kalu is also currently serving as the chairman of NCC/Presidential
committee to actualize a sustainable Internet Exchange for Nigeria.
